In November, reiners turn their attention to the super bowl of reining, the NRHA Futurity and North American Affiliate Championship show held in Oklahoma City November 28 – December 7.  Top futurity horses from around the world will compete, as well as finalists in ancillary classes.  WRHA is an affiliate of NRHA and hosts qualifying classes for members to earn their way to the North American Affiliate Finals.  We wish luck to those traveling to Oklahoma City competing in either the Futurity or North American Affiliate Finals events.

While the WRHA 2013 show season is complete, fall and winter are good times to get lessons and coaching, as well as reassess insurance and other services with the help of our sponsors.  WRHA offers a business directory on our website.  If you wish to compete in NRHA classes for the first time, be sure to become a member or renew your membership for the 2014 show season as well as secure a competition license from NRHA for your horse, in your name.  WRHA offers a wide variety of classes that do not require NRHA membership, from “small fry reiner” (11 years and under) to adult riders on any horse.  If you aren’t ready to show but are interested in learning more about reining, opportunities to scribe are available at every WRHA show.  No special skills or knowledge is needed.  Scribing is a great opportunity to sit with the judge and learn how maneuvers are scored.  Contact any member of the show committee or board if you are interested in scribing or other volunteer opportunities.  WRHA can be found on the web at and on Facebook.
