Successful Outreach and Ideas for Community Engagement will be offered on July 22, 2015 at 1pm ET
This webinar will be presented by members of the Coalition who have excelled in areas of outreach and positive community engagement. Vickie Spears is the Director of the Doris Day Equine Center at Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch in Murchison, TX. Vickie will present an overview of thoughts and strategies garnered from several successful horse rescue organizations including Kentucky Equine Humane Center in Lexington, Equine Voices Rescue and Sanctuary in Green Valley, AZ, and Red Bucket Equine Rescue in Chino Hills, CA.
Tarah French, a volunteer with All About Equine in El Dorado Hills, CA, will present a case study of the organization’s winning event in the ASPCA’s National Help a Horse Day Contest which resulted in All About Equine being awarded one of the two $10,000 grand prizes. Tarah will describe the planning and execution of the event, and will share what was learned from the successful undertaking.
The subject of community engagement and outreach will be explored in the webinar and then further expanded upon during a panel discussion at The Homes for Horses Coalition conference September 25-26 in Irving, TX. “Learning how to effectively engage your community is difficult, especially engaging those outside of the smaller circle of horse enthusiasts; but, it’s important to increasing impact, gaining support, and educating the public. It fosters awareness and commitment and can lead to increased donors, volunteers and adopters,” said Cindy Gendron, Coordinator of the Coalition. This webinar will give equine welfare organizations insight and tips on demonstrating, in an engaging way, the value of their organization in their community.
