Summer show season is almost here, so we caught up with one of our Sponsored Athletes, Sharon Miller from Sharon Miller Eventing.
Rolex the only regularly held four-star event in the Western Hemisphere. Have you ever competed at Rolex? How does it feel?
SM: Unfortunately, I have never had the honor of competing a the four (4) star level, although many of my friends have made the trip around and I try my best to be there cheering them on!!
What’s your favorite place to compete?
SM: My home, Bidawee Farm LLC is located in Virginia so I am partial to the great events that Area 2 has to offer. I would say if I had to pick an all time favorite it would be The Maryland Horse Trials at Loc Moy… They run a fantastic USEA event both in the spring and fall and are consistently making improvements and new changes to the XC course, so you never run the same XC design twice!!
What’s your favorite phase?
SM: My favorite phase is dressage. I believe everything begins with good basic flat work… A well-schooled horse on the flat is a much better ride for the jumping phases.
How do you prepare?
SM: I prepare with lots of flat work, hacking and trots set… I usually only jump once a week or sometimes a second jump school for grids if necessary.
Do you have any superstitions?
SM: Yes, LOL I always have something blue on.
What’s your favorite Noble Outfitters thing to wear when competing?
SM: My must haves are, Ready to Ride Gloves and my Ready to Ride Gloves.
What’s your next goal?
SM: My goal is to complete a 2-star this year with Ethan.
