Winding Down with a Bang!
By Sally Sutherland
The Washington Reining Horse Association presents their last show of the year September 29th through October 2nd at the Appleatchee Riders arena in Wenatchee. The Fall Spectacular is sponsored by Sky River Equestrian Center of Sultan, Washington. We are winding down the year with a bang!
There will be circuit awards presented in Non-Pro, Limited Non-Pro, Youth 13 and under, Youth 14 to 18, and in the Open division. The highest score in the composite from both qualifying classes determines the winner. There will also be buckles awarded to the champion and reserve champion in the derby class for 4, 5 & 6-year-old horses and also in the 7-and-over class. Many of the non-pro classes will have a division for riders 50 and over and there will be classes for beginning riders, green riders, kids under 11 years, and classes specifically for Arabian and Half Arabian horses. The classes sanctioned by the NRHA require NRHA membership but the club classes do not, so you can have an affordable route to try out reining and see if you like the sport.
The complete list of classes and requirements can be downloaded at www.wrha.net. So come with a horse or just come to watch!
The WRHA wishes to thank our fine sponsors without whom this would not be possible: Diamond sponsors are Sky River Equestrian Center, David & Terri Stroud, Maria Danieli Real Estate, and Timberland Homes. Platinum sponsors are Evergreen Equine Vet, Heritage Building Contractors, Presco Telecommunications, Red Pony Insurance, Eve Willet , Rhodes River Ranch, and Stancik Non-Pros.
