Do you want to go on a fun ride with your friends, traveling at your own speed (no running please) through an excellent riding area and have the opportunity to win prizes? Then you want to come to the Ponderosa Back Country Horsemen Fall Fun Ride and Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, September 29. This is the third annual event held at the equestrian area of Riverside State Park near Spokane, Washington. This is a Discover Pass-free event.

This is a unique event designed to meet the needs of participants who wish to enjoy the great area we have in Riverside State Park. We hang 40 items in the trees, scattered through an area that has a spider web system of trails in a well-defined area. Participants ride out at their discretion in groups of one or two to find the objects. When they find them, they remove a number from the item, leaving the item hanging in the tree.

Each item has a point value from 1 to 40. Some are harder to find. When the riders return to registration their points are totaled and the ones with the highest count wins. The event also includes free pictures of each team, a hot chili lunch, door prizes, raffles, and music.

Riverside State Park is a great place to ride and camp. We suggest that your group ride the Scavenger Hunt on Saturday then stay overnight and have a group ride on Sunday. Make it a weekend––or longer––of great riding and camping together. The equestrian campground is on site.

See the event flier, registration form, fact sheet and camping information at our website www.pbchw.com and at parks.state.wa.us/573/Riverside or call Ken Carmichael at 509-466-2225.
