A New Novel from Blind Author Berna King
The Unexpected Gift follows two families whose lives are torn apart by two tragic events. After one of those events leaves a young girl blinded, the families are brought together through a therapeutic equestrian center and must overcome challenges like drug addiction, blackmail, and murder.
Author Berna King has never let the fact that she is blind hinder her abilities and maneuvered through life much like any other child, enjoying 4H, riding horses, singing and reading. Drawn from some elements in her own life, the book details how people of faith cope with challenges and tragedy. She writes her novel from the point of view of people with full eyesight, so action scenes are vivid and memorable. King is a rehabilitation counselor and assists people with visual impairments to return to the workforce. Assisted by her guide dog, King lives and works in Ohio. The Unexpected Gift is available on Amazon for $22.95.
