Enjoy Feature Classes and NRHA Non Pro Derby April 11-12
Washington Reining Horse Association (WRHA) kicks off the show season April 11 with the Sky River Equestrian Center Spring Fling and Derby at the Appleatchee Riding Club in Wenatchee. Come watch the feature classes, NRHA Non Pro Derby Saturday evening April 12th and NRHA Open Derby Friday evening April 11th. If you or your horse are new to reining, beginner rider and green horse classes will be offered Friday with club classes running concurrent to NRHA classes throughout the weekend. Beginner, green, and club classes do not require an NRHA competition license for your horse or an NRHA membership for the rider.
Looking for some assistance getting started in reining? Consider working with WRHA sponsors and trainers such as Darren Stancik who trains out of Sky River Equestrian Center in Sultan; Sean and Jordan McBurney who train out of Rhodes River Ranch in Oso (Arlington); Sue Muir who is in the Lynnwood area and works with clients in Monroe and Snohomish and LaRae Powell of Silver Aspen Ranch in Auburn. Kari Klingenberg who trains out of Lucky 13 in Arlington; Mike Stokes in Manson and Cory Hutchings who trains out of Big Iron Ranch in Arlington are also longtime supporters of WRHA and can help you find a reining horse or give lessons on the horse you have. WRHA can be found at wrha.net or on Facebook.
