Become an Addict! Pacific Northwest Endurance Rides, Inc. (PNER) will have their annual convention at the Portland Airport Sheraton Hotel, Portland, OR January 24-25—Endurance riding: HOBBY OR ADDICTION?
Endurance riding is a unique equine event in which horse and rider teams compete over distances of 50-100 miles in one day. Limited distance events are 20-35 mile rides. Accomplishments in endurance and limited distance events are recognized at the annual convention. Education is an important component of the weekend with speakers on a variety of sport horse-related subjects: nutrition, lameness evaluation video presentation, yoga for riders, the use of a GPS and tracking lost horses, hoof pain and panel discussions by experienced endurance riders.
Shopping is available at the free trade show. Open to the public from 10am to 6pm Friday and 8am to 6pm Saturday. A used tack sale is open concurrently with the trade show.The weekend culminates with an awards banquet and dance on Saturday night. Come hang out with fun people as horse-crazy as you are and learn about endurance riding!
