Show Series to Debut in April in Wenatchee
WRHA will host three shows for the 2013 show season, each with a different feature class/event in addition to full slates of NRHA classes as well as club classes not requiring NRHA membership. The first WRHA show of the year is the Spring Fling and Derby which will be held April 12-14, 2013 at the Appleatchee Riding Club in Wenatchee. Open and Non Pro NRHA Derby classes are the feature classes for this show. Next up is The Classic, which is scheduled for May 31- June 2, 2013 to be held at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe. Feature classes in the past have included the John Slack Memorial Beginner Rider Class, Classic NRHA Open and NRHA Non Pro, and NRHA Open and NRHA Non Pro Maturity Classes. Feature classes for The 2013 Classic had not yet been determined at press time. The third and final WRHA show for 2013 will be the Fall Spectacular and Futurity, which will be held October 4 – 6, 2013 at the Appleatchee Riding Club in Wenatchee. The feature classes at this show are NRHA Open and NRHA Non Pro Futurity classes. WRHA awards prizes to third place in all classes in addition to prize money payouts at all shows. WRHA members are eligible for year-end awards, which have included buckles, jackets, horse blankets, halters, and other prizes. Washington Reining Horse Association’s objective is to promote and encourage the showing of reining horses; and to develop and dissemble informational material deemed desirable to provide contestants and spectators a better understanding of a proper performance of the reining horse in the show arena.
