When the product development team at Absorbine® set out to re-design the UltraShield® Fly Mask, the bar was set high. Horse owners across the country were asked what features the ideal mask would include. That research led to the latest high-tech performance fabrics, advanced comfort-enhancing features and a completely re-imagined fly mask.
Inspired by human athletic gear, the new mask features the latest high-tech sport fabrics. The crown and jowl are fashioned from a diamond knit used in warm weather running apparel; the soft fabric wicks away moisture to keep horses cool and dry. The ears are made from a lightweight, breathable sport knit commonly used in football jerseys to offer optimal durability and protection from the sun. A strong woven mesh makes up the face to block 80% of harmful UV rays, reduce heat transfer and solar glare, and allow air to pass freely for the horse’s comfort. All of these fabrics resist stains and stand up to wear-and-tear for excellent protection with longevity. The mask comes in three sizes to suit a wide variety of horses including cob, horse and warmblood size, all available with or without ears.

Publisher’s Review: The UltraShield mask from Absorbine is a heavy duty essential for everyone wanting to protect your horse from flies. I am using the one with ear protection which is super nice for those irritating bugs. The mask fits well and seems to stay in place without much trouble. The velcro is heavy duty and adjusts for any size horse. It has held up well, but I’ve only used it for a couple of months. Like everything else I’ve sampled from Absorbine, it is a quality product worth the investment.
